NOTICE OF WATER RATE CHANGE - FOR RESIDENTIAL, RURAL, COMMERCIAL AND PUBLIC INSTITUTIONAL CUSTOMER CLASSES

NOTICE OF WATER RATE CHANGE - FOR RESIDENTIAL, RURAL, COMMERCIAL AND PUBLIC INSTITUTIONAL CUSTOMER CLASSES

The District’s water charges are comprised of three components that are billed bi-monthly: (1) a volumetric charge for each HCF (hundred cubic foot) of water delivered during the billing period; (2) a $14 Water Treatment debt service charge to repay a loan obligation for required improvements; (3) a base rate charge based upon capacity (meter class). At this time, the only change is to the volumetric charge, which is a pass through of the increased wholesale water cost charged by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The revised commodity rate will go in effect with all invoices on or after Monday, May 2, 2016. The pass through adjustment will increase the commodity rate from $0.47 per HCF to $0.50 per HCF.

As of this date, the District has not received a revised water supply allocation and therefore previously adopted water conservation measures and allotments remain in effect. However, with greatly improved precipitation we expect an improved water supply from the Central Valley Project and the State Water Resources Control Board to relax emergency conservation regulations. Unfortunately, these agency decisions have been delayed. Please continue to conserve water and check our website for updates.   www.bvwd.org
