State Board Releases Draft Emergency Regulation To Implement 25% Statewide Reduction in Urban Water Use

The State Water Resources Control Board released a draft emergency regulatory package Saturday for implementing the required 25% reduction in urban water use outlined in the April 1 executive order issued by Gov. Jerry Brown.

The draft regulatory package and related materials can be found at this link, under the “Documents” tab:  http://www.waterboards.ca.gov/waterrights/water_issues/programs/drought/emergency_mandatory_regulations.shtml#

The draft regulatory package reflects comments submitted by more than 200 water agencies after the State Board released a draft framework on April 7.

The State Board is expected to issue a formal emergency rulemaking notice on April 28 and will consider final approval at a hearing on May 5 or 6.
